Success in the knowledge society

Today's economical education column of NIKKEI newspaper,Mr.tanaka,famous economic critic,said that Japanese economy needs the stage where professional people can play an active part . Professional  means person who have plenty of knowledge to survive in economical society. Mr.Drucker said that Japan had success in the industrial society,so Japan is tend to delay to adjust this knowledge based society.That comment is hint for us. Please have a good year-end!

JAL from now on

According to newspaper Japan Air Line is considering whether use legal reformation or not. As users , the enterprise itself should be reformed to remain. Contrarily the company have to adjust the interests. We should watch how to solve this problem.

Reform needs energy and cooperative mind

Nowadays every company and workers needs reform in Japan. There are already learned system.So people are reluctant to do reform action.Those mind probably effect. Japanese company and business model sometimes reject change. We should have more energy and cooperative mind to do reform for people in the future.

Pleasure at the year end

There are only 4days in this year. I wonder how is the next year,expecting and considering what to do and what is the target of the next year. Every year-end I remember the passing year and  plan to do next year.That is my pleasure.What going on the next year's plan.

I stayed a hotel near Tokyo Disney land yesterday with mu family. When I sayed such a hotel , I always consider how to imorove hospitality of  resort Hotel . Good hospitality and good service make us stay more days in Hotel and begin to stay more places for sightseeing. Increasing the number of repeaters get those business more popular and strong.

National debt

According to newspaper,the National debt of Japan is 44.3tyo-uen.That expence exceed tax income. It means the continuation of national finance must be improved in the near future again.That is tough and different problem,I think.

Merry Christmas!

There are many events in terms of Christmas season. Christmas cards,sale,cake,tree and present. We can enjoy and have peaceful mind through those things and events. I think those effect are very important for us to refresh and have communication.We would like to keep those events in the future. For peace .

Ford Motor Co. announced that the Stock of Volvo are going to be selled to  Zhejiang Geely Holding Company Limited 2010. This M&A's point is how to manage "post merger integration".The culture and management between Sweden, USA and China.So manager and board member of new Volvo have to be sensitive to those background.How to keep brand strategy and techniqual superiority is related to those things.

Forgetfulness makes us sensitive to information

When we have plenty of information,we get busy operating them and stop thinking.Contrarily when we forget and lack of information , we get interested in them and begin to study. This is something like "fasting".Recently people are full of information and are not interested in studying and getting more information or relationship to other people in Japan. This fasting is probably good for us to review our surrounding.

Economy in BOP

BOP(bottom of pyramid) ,people who have under 3thousand dollers income live in developing countries,economic importance is getting large and we should think about them because the number of those people get up to over 70% of people in the world. I think that the project in terms of this can be some NPO or NGO project. We can become aware of the real shape of this world. 

Reform in NAGOYA CITY

This reform was reported by TV program "sunday project". Mr.Kawamura,Mayor of Nagoya,propose 10% reduction of taxes by reforming the system and custom of administration.In this prosess, there are many frictions and arguments in the City assembly. That makes us aware of the discussion's importance.

Flowers under the cold sky

I found two flowers around my house.One is white narcissus(SUISEN) and the other is yellow carolina jasmine(KARORAINA JASUMIN). In winter flowers are few. So those flowers are very valuable for us to encourage ourselves.

I am very interested in what is going to brings us by "FREE OF CHARGE" trend recently. Now I read a book about this theme"FREE-The future of a radical price by Chris Anderson フリー　無料からお金を生み出す新戦略　クリスアンダーソン著（ＮＨＫ出版）" I would like to think this theme thoroughly in this year end because I think this is relevant to educational business.

Kanji this year is "新"

This year's KANJI was decided "新"SHIN.SHIN means something new or neo something.It has good or bad, ambivarent meaning.Good meaning are new thing ,new goods new policy ,contrarily bad meaning are new disease or some pain. I hope this SHIN makes us more tough and brings us good future. 

Conference between remote places

New conference system is depeloped and probably change our lives better. This enable us to talk and discuss from far distant place. For example ,in business scene,we can have meeting between distant places and save the cost to transfer.For education,we can use this for students to ask question to proper teacher in distant place. I was impressed.

Only 55% can get job (high school guraduates)

Yesterday Ministry of education announced that the persentage of people who can get job after guraduating high school is plunged recently. I think that this is a crisis for us.We should seek and know what the reason of this and have to get it better.I think this is related to educational matter.The educational policy is needed. But the budjet is limited.What to do in this situation?

Wake up early morning

Today I and my elder son wake up 6 am and have breakfast with conversation. He can preparate for todays program in school. Getting up early morning is good for us. We japanese say"HAYAOKI WA SANMON NO TOKU".

East Asia collaboration

Today's government are seeking to have "East Asia collaboration plan" . So Prime minister and leading person in the government visited  China or Singapare and other countries located in East Asia.Today,the border between countries are getting lower, diminished ,gone away European Union for example.I think that we Japanese should know people,culture and laguages in Asia.  

Consistent trial

I use several certifying examination to see and keep the knowledge and skill for business ability.For example,I tried accounting exam.(BOKI) to retain the ability of accouting skill and keep up with renewal the revision of commercial law and accouting. I think that it is valuable and new use for examination.

Educational business in India

I met two Indian people yesterday and taik about the situation of national educational system and the trend of going abroad to enter foreign University. Before this meeting I have no image of those thing , but I can have those image clearer after that. In India there are already plenty of system(include facility and circumstances) to get education from basic level to advanced level. And most of university student do not do part time job because they must study in University.I had a image that on the contrarily Japanese univertity student probably lose their ability or get late in accumulating the useful or educational knowledge in easy going lifestyle in Japanese university.I think this is serious for Japanese.

Deflation December

Bonus in this December is lowest level in this 20 years. So people are goint to fasten their wallet and inflation is spreaded out.What should we do against those trend? I think that we should seek better life aggressively with more thinking, reading ,watching ,communicating and spending proper cost for those events, I think.

Suzuki and VW

Car maker Suzuki and WV join hands Yesterday.I thought this news as something like a merger, but Mr.suzuki said, at the inteview last night,that this tie up does not means Suzuki lost independent and VW will not control Suzuki business.So I think this means measures to develop electric car and find how to succeed the business of Suzuki.

How to spend money?

According to newspaper,the sales of car is growing in China and India recently.Contrarily inJapan young people are not interested in Car.They do not think enjoy life with car and would like to save money.What is this? Money is just money,it is not another thing. Japanese young people should know the opportunity cost by saving money in their young age.

How to activate high school

Last night I attended some seminor discussed how to change high school to be a proper school for changing entrance examination for high level university. There were many teacher or officer of high school in that seminor.They are very interested in brush up their high school's image for their future students.This project needs teachers and headquarters change drastically.

Habit of study helps us to live properly

I got a good news from ALC(English studing program)that I got a 100point in monthly test in Healing marathon in November. I felt good and started program in December with my motivated mind. I think that studing contiuously is good for us to face aganst new situation or new job or new acquaintance.It will become certain ability I think.

I think that it is very important and profitable to use those activity.

I try to control my weight for my health.But that is very hard to do. The point is how to control what I eat. But that is very difficult to keep on going.When I feel hanger because of some reason the difficulty hit the highest point.I will try.

Yesterday night I attend meeting for reading book's of Drucker.The book is Management for non profitable corporation. Discussion about the book me can activate the meaning of what is written in this book. It is good chance for me to study. Today is the firstday of SHIWASU!

Fallen leaves

Yesterday I cleaned fallen leaves around my house. When I started, there is a man( live in neighbour)cleaning leaves energetically.I speaked to him about enjoying collecting leaves. He said that he enjoy cleaning because that makes him refreshed.I agreed him. That was small good episode.

Mr. Masukawa's forecast

Mr. Masukawa who got a Novel Prize said in NIKKEI newspaper that he predict any war in world will be diminished 200 year later.He said that the inevitability of stopping any war is spreading around the world gradually. I get a hope from his article.

What should be goal for free school?

Yesterday I met and discussed with a president and founder of famous free school in Tokyo. Today, the circumstances of educational problem in Japan is changing faster than what we imagine.So those non-formal education is noticed and expected.I would like to think and try what the basic education should be in Japan.

The omen of economic crisis or not

Dubai world(holding company own by Dubai government) requested delay about 0.5year of their debt because their business is not going good.This news is shocked business people related to to business in Dubai.Many Japanese company are doing business in Dubai,especially construction company and banks.I am anxious about its negative impact to World economy and Japanese economy.

There are several Christmas ornament(illumination of streets and house)near my house.That makes me refreshed and cheerful.It is very important for us to get people around us felt good who returning to their home.That makes their activities tomorrow.

Yesterday I attend a meeting about how to increase the number of immigration and how to activate the Japanese economy. Especially, immigration as university student is important and specious theme. International students are key to make Japanese quiet student more active,I think.

45year shopping arcade

Yesterday I visited arcade shopping-center in front of shinkoiwa JR station. One store clerk said that this shopping arcade was made 45years ago.The arcade is very clean and stable and many people are enjoing shopping under the arcade.I was impressed by those facts.

How to keep Japanese contents alive

It is often said that contents business(Japanese IDEA,NOVEL or MANGA for example)has competence in world market.But I think that even if that subject is true,it needs much support and endeavour to keep those contents alive in the future. In these days we have Internet to get many many information from around the world but nevertheless many valuable ideas has gone from our mind.We should remember the famous proverb "Gresham's law:Bad money drives out good=悪貨は良貨を駆逐する".If we only referred everything to Internet for free,we might only access to bad information.That is important proverb, I think.

Shortage of person under the deflation

According to business magazine(NIKKEI BUSINESS),we are going to be short of worker and officer in the near future.And we have to accept more immigration for that problem solved.The number of shortage will reach to 10 million!! That number is so many that our decision of accepting immigration will be changed to open.At that time Japanese society is probably changed drastically.

Hospitality and feel

I went to a hospital,where my father is in,last night. Hospital building is very old and light is not bright but there are 20 or 30 bed and patients and their lives. I think and feel livings and existence of people inside the old building. That feeling is made by something like hospitality,I think.

Many students are finding job seriously

Newspaper said that in this recession,people lost their job and it becomes difficult to find proper job for them.Students are more serious because they have no career and they need to be trained to go job. It is a social problem.

I attended a meeting with people who are active in educational domain. We confirmed that defining what kind of men and women we should grow,and what to tell students about to motivate themselves to study.I was very impressed by this meeting.

I watched CNN program "OBAMA in china".President attend a meeting with Chinese university students and discussed about economy politics and so on.Students gave OBAMA many questions with high motivation.I was impressed.

Moral and Economy should be in harmony

Today we would like to change our thinking of economic ethics.Because we have been worried about many bad results of excessive free and egocentric trend in these days. In Japan there are old ethical economic thought. So it turn out to be a opportunity to remind Japanese old thinking, I think.

One novel "SUNAONA-SENSHI"

I read this weekend one novel describing Jananese struggle for entrance exam and for making their children a what we call elite. Parents prepare for their first son's proper success in examination.On the contrarily they cannot care for second son because of lack of time. But their project do not succeed. The author is SHIROYAMA-SABUROU Japanese famous writer.

Morning jogging

I and my two son start enjoy jogging todays morning. About 30 minutes we go jogging around neighbourhood to small park. There are many kind of plants,flowers and fruits 'persimmon for examples'. It is full of discovery.

There is a "twitter" boom in internet world. It is made by a lot of mutter real time. It can be selected and listed up timely. So it grow as private mass communication. There can become personal media in the near future.

Memories belong to people

Yesterday,I met older members of bicycle circle. And we could remember many old memories already forgotten. I think those memories link to character or person in a memorial stories. So we can remember when we met those people.The more people we can meet,the more memories we can remember.

What a nation should do?

Yesterday the selection of national work "JIGYOU-SIWAKE" started. Many work and project provably stop or get slim. I think this action is inevitable in smaller national income these days.But at the same time,we should think what should be done by nation seriously. I think that guaranteeing the minimum education service to poverty children have to be done by nation with more idea and money.

Little demand for education

I think that educational matter is tend to be forgotten by people because those educational demands are not so said loudly. Those problems are thought not of the problem of adults but of only children who has not the right to vote.So those are not argued in political section seriously. That is serious problem.

20th anniversary

20years has passed from the Berlin's Wall had broken.After that time, The world should have been one universe.But there are several war or dispute in recent times. We should break the Wall in our mind against new,strange and inexperienced things and people. That is very important thing for us.

Dear old shopping district

I visited old shopping district near Shinkoiwa station. Walking along under the arcade , I can recognize the time goes by and where I am now. Some shop had gone,and some one is still there. People who are walking is old and eider,children are few. When I was high school student,there are many children and baby with those mothers and families. Time is going for somewhere else.

Cyclist go around the world

Yesterday,I met Mr.Sakamoto who went around the world by bicycle in about 5 years. He gave us special lecture at Kawaijuku,kojimachi branch.I was impressed what he do after that world travel. After the trip he went to Guinea again,where he had gotten malaria and was helped to cure with much hospitality among the cycle travel,and he helped people to dig a well. There are not proper well in those area,so many plague,bad disease,are spread.

What going on "Music Market"

"NIKKEI business",Japanese magazine for business people,said that Japanese music CD selling is not good in these days,especially for young people. So music companies are going to settle main target to elder people. What means this? I think that it probably means that young people's interest is changing now. What are they interested in? This is what Id like to ask them?

Yesterday I have meeting with bureaucrats of Ministry of Economy,Trade and Industry.We discussed what Japanese education should be and how we achieve the goal.And what bottlenecks the process. We proposed some new policy about education for young children.The need for compulsory education got diverse," for poverty or for career education for example",and public education is not enough for that.That is a serious problem.

Car makers diversity

Japanese car makers business showing are diverse. Suzuki and nissan are good because their business are strong in growing area(china,Indeia). Toyota has subject to rank improve their share in those area. It means car maker business is drastically changing now.

Buffet purchase

The famous American investor,Warren Buffett,purchased Northan Santa Fe train railroad company. It is not IT, not new rather old category of business. I think this buyout should be focused. This old style business may be driving force.

Pleasant meeting

Last night I attended small meeting with my old colleague in JFC.They work at branches in the whole Japanese country.We discussed about how should be the governmental support of Japanese small business.

I bought Japanese famous novelist'YAMASAKI TOYOKO''s essay published last week by Amazon book and read in one day.I was impressed what she said in this book.It is about how she made novel.First decide what the theme and almost story and next she began to research many people. She have strong spirit to know what exist in fact and what have to be known in public.

30th anniversary,cycling circle

Yesterday,I visit university festival in KUNITACHI.There are many shops,events and concerts. I recalled my student-days and passed this about 20-years from graduate. I attended the OB "former member" gathering.I met young men and women ,and had communication and talked about work and living and so on.That was a very happy event.

Good season for meeting

Today's climate is very fine. What we call"AKIBARE". My family and I is going to the festival in my graduate univ today. we are looking forward to meet many students and graduates.

Newspaper ...be read more people

I have shocked that my two young colleagues do not read any newspapers. They do not and said that they do not have necessity of reading newspaper because they can access Internet. I think that they are someone like what we call "naked king" in IT society. I explain the necessity and usage of reading newspaper everyday. They have graduated Japanese most excellent university. uhh..That may be Japanese educational system??

What going on "YUBIN-KYOKU"

The president of "NIHON YUSEI" has changed to ex-public executive. Where this bank will go for? Is this governmental bank?? If so, it may lead confusion or disorder. New design of yubin-kyoku is expected strongly.I think that in this point governmental bank 'Japan Fiance Corp. ,Development Bank of Japan and YUCHO-BANK' should merge to one governmental bank and have proper size(today's size may be too big to exist).

Where does Banks going to?

Yesterday Japanese two trust banks(sumitomo and chuo-mitui) will merge at 2010 spring. I do not know the real aim of doing so,I expect those banks to announce to people why they would like to make what kind of new bank , and what the new bank will do and should do. Banks are public organization even though they are private corporation.

Two famous magazine,why stopped?

The Magazine "SHOUGAKU 5 NENSEI and ROKUNENSEI",famous magazine for elementary schoolchild will be stopped next spring. I was surprised to hear that news and read the news's analysis this is because the diversity of recent children's interest. I disagree this analysis. I think that this may be caused by the weakness of children's interest or curiosity. I think this is serious problem.

Hotsprings neighborhood

I went "hot springs" yesterday. There are many people who take a rest for relaxing. Because of the skill for searching and digging springs have been upgraded in these days,many hot springs are found the Tokyo metropolitan area. I think that its good trend for people to enjoy easy relaxing at those hot springs.Those may be a alternative to "Sento(Japanese traditional public bath)".

Good scenery and art give us good imagination

Yesterday my family and I visited "National Museum of Nature and Science" and "Matsuoka Museum of Art" in meguro-ku Tokyo.In those museum there are many good scenery spot and art,for example "Gandhara Art 2 or 3 AD". In front of those art and scenery we can expand our imagination pocket or receptor and we can understand those real value for us. We can not imagine without oppotunity or catalyst.

New datebook

Yesterday I bought a pocket datebook for next year.Its delightful to open the new notebook. The note that have next year's date is symbol of hope.

Career education at junior high school

Yesterday I give a lecture at public junior high school in Chiba prefecture.The theme is 'What is working is? Why do we have a job?' It is a very valuable experience to me because I know the difference to explain and get students understand the meaning of my lecture.Among the lecture student have time to think how many and what kind of job is there in convenience store chain. This is fresh experience for them, I think.

How to know what working is like?

I think that it is important to do career education to young students. In Japan career development is getting more serious and difficult because we are not used to how to get job and how to educate oneself preparing for their new job.

flu-influence

My elder son's class children are send home and the class is close until this weekend. So it is problem that what to do or should to do this week.I think that he should do like in school. And I suggest that he should watch NHK educational program for school. I think that schools should think and prepare for the alternative program for influenza pandemic.

Lack of sense

Japanese people do not read books. According to some research,over 20% people do not read one book per month. This is serious problem. Japan is expected from world because of its progressed economy and highly added-value. To keep this situation,we Japanese must study naturally and customarily.

Diversity of ones sense of values ??

Some columnist say that people(especially young people)have many diverse interest so their sense of values are diverse. So the marketing to those people is very difficult,they intend. But I raise objection to those comments. I think that in these days especially young(including old young) many people do not read newspaper and technical(or specialty) books and cannot shape their own set of opinion and live style. So they do not have any solid interest or curiosity to anything.It is not diverse but there is nothing to be absorbed. That is serious problem.

Private Newsletter

I think that new 'Private' media is growing continuously. In these days mass media(newspaper,TV,radio)lose their power in society because those business model have to be changed by declining the advertising market. So the number of mass media(especially TV) program to watch is decreasing. On the other hand,people get their own private media(for example,private mailing newsletter or brog)to send their message or information to the public.

Bankers mobility

Banks have to change their business model to customer oriented. To fulfill that purpose, bankers might get mobility of their carriers.In Japan people who work at bank hesitate to change their job, but because of this custom,bankers have few chance to know what is happening in real business scene.And they can not have idea how to grow business,only giving loan and collecting loan.That is tragedy,I think.

Commercial Bank's role

Today's paper said that Japanese commercial banks hesitate to loan to SME(small and medium size enterprises).I think this means banks do not play their role in economy. Banks should think and act how to deliver money to SME properly not just hesitating.Hesitate means that they do not use their brain at all.So they cannot grow ability to investigate SME and give advice to SME's presidents.That is a serious problem.

A man of character is ideal teacher

Teachers needs fine character,not excessive information. They front to students and people who have interest to students future,not to just information or lecture. It is difficult to grow or raise ones character,so teachers need to keep in touch with surroundings and change themselves continuously.Today's comment is suggested by my father(in law)'s letter.

Online university hope

I met and discussed with officers,founding online university.I think that online university should have a new role in Japan.The role is guaranteeing the basic educational right to working high school students.In these days,there may be many people who cannot give needful education to their children because of lack of money and consciousness. I think that those children should be independent from their parents when they graduate junior high school.And they go to high school and university with working.They economical or social situation may get better than if they are depend on their parents.

Computer trap

I think that people misunderstand the computer's unablity. Computer is productedjust for calculation,not for draw pictures or make some decision.This is important.

The merit of duscussion

In my lecture I have settled several times for discussion between me and attendees. At that session, they announced questions and impressions.And other people added their views or opinions. After those discussions,we could know better what they did not know or had attention.Those gave me many useful information.

I gave a lecture for consultants of small business yesterday. The theme of this lecture was "Practical M&A".Attendees were very active and they gave me many questions and suggestions .The lecture gave me many useful information.

Grow company

I think that people who have strong will to grow company are necessary to be active.In many company there are few those people.To increase those people,we need some education to teach the importance of respectable company.

3 hours delay

Yesterday commuter trains stopped about three hours by the typhoon. I waited train to start on my way to office about 3 hours! That was valuable experience.

Strong typhoon is coming to Japan this week. We should take care of its course.And we can have a chance to check which we prepare for disaster.

Misokateu in nagoya

Yesterday I visited nagoya station and I went to famous restaurant of misokatsu " fried pork cutlet with miso sauce". Size of cutlet was big size "waraji"that means the size of cutlet is big as straw sandals.

I think that carriereducation have to bespreaded and high quality.To do so,we should_provide our resource.

How compulsory education deal with poverty

I think that compulsory education is the last resort to poverty.Compulsory education is expected to provide students to know how to live after graduating junior high school.How to get money from labor or other social support and how to get their home,dormitory for example.

Guarantee the educatiuonal right

There is a crisis in Japanese education,I think. There are many educated people and fluent property all right,but also there is differ in quality and quantity in personal asset and lives.Some children can have good education but some cannot. Those difference may get wider and wider these days. At NHK TV have a special section in those difference tonight 9 PM.

I looking forward to the Rio's Olympic 2016. The Olympic do in South America for the first time. And those area is developing now and future. We can see those change in the near future. In Brazil,there are many emigrants from Japan. So there may be many distant relatives.

I think that private relation is important because that make people dealing with public relation good and properly.So if one would like to have happy job or work,he or she should create good private relation.

Yesterday I attend a small meeting for studying DRUCKER'S BOOK. Attendants study hard and have a active discussion after work.Its a fresh experience.People who attend the meeting have their own position in terms of studying and having human relations.

Public emplyee have to chage their lifestyle

Prime minister Hatoyama said that the appointment of a retiring government officials to an important post of some firm 'AMAKUDARI' must be forbidden. In this action , governmental officials may change their carrier design. They work at government in a lifetime or quit government and find a new job by oneself. It turn out to be a big change in labor market.Their may be more excellent government officers who change their carrier to private sector.

I think ministry Kamei'S policy 'Moratorium' may lead to give changing opportunity to Banks. Banks only gather and collect money and hesitate to loan to SME(small and medium sized Enterprise)because they fear to hurt their capital.So they have not had chance to have plenty communication with those SME's managers. This Moratorium may lead Banks to brush up their communication and consulting skills to keep their loan's quality ,not quantity.

Language schools will change

Yesterday I attend the workshop.The theme is 'Quality in language teaching organisations'.In EU,There is strict rule or standardisation for guarantee the quality of language education.So if one enter some school that enter this system,they do not have anxiety how is the quality and effect the school and teacher provide.I think that in Japan there is not such system ,so we often have complaint about the quality of the teacher and education system.If such system will enter into Japan ,there may be more needs for studying at English school,and people who have such needs are such people who had given up studying English long ago because of the unsettled quality of school.

I think that recently social and economic circumstances changes speedily,so we have to educate ourselves consistently.Then we should know what to study now for oneself.This is difficult question.To deal with this problem, we should know what we do not enough know and should know.

Education comes from Educe,my father in law suggested yesterday.Educe means bring out someone's (substantial) ability.And then ,what type of ability teacher should draw out? I think this ability is how to be alive in this world.And World's situation are changing,so these necessary ability are also changing. Yesterday I went to symposium in Tokyo University.The theme was University internationalization in Japan."Internationalization" means to increase international student in Japaneses universities and activate them. The main point of this action is how we help the foreign students to have a comfortable student life in Japan.And to do this,we must remove the language barrier.Then there seems to start lectures in English Japanese universities.That may be a drastic change.
