Last night I attend YOMAWARI(night watch being careful for fire) as the Boy Scouts event. This event get us feel yearend and newyear.Walking with Scouts members, I think about what happened in 2010 and what is going to happen in 2011.

Annual revenue of China

According to today's NIKKEI, annual revenue of China is over 100 trillion yen in 2010. This is NO2 of the world(No1 is USA's 160 trillion). This level is over twice as much as Japanese revenue(about 40 trillion yen). If Japan is willing to increase the revenue, innovative change must be needed in all sector,or the consumer tax increase.   

Private exhibition of potter's work

Last Saturday I went to some private exhibition of work which held by my former co-worker. His work is developing through his experience. Style of his work is for enjoying usual home use. I bought one bowl.   

Preparation for new year

This weekend is the last chance to prepare for the new year. Changing the Christmas ornament to new year,and cleaning up the exterior of house (O-soji in Japanese), writing new year greeting card( Nenga-jo in Japanese), time is passing fast. This is somewhat traditional work in Japan.

International students increase in Japan

According to today's NIKKEI, international students increase 7% 2010 in Japan. This news is good for Japanese people because Japanese needs to keep contact with diverse racial people in this global society. On the other hand Japanese people who go abroad to study in decreasing 11% 2008! This is serious news. This must be changed to adjust this global world.

Long-term interest rate increasing

In Japan the long-term interest rate is increasing nowadays. This must be watched carefully and the government and the BOJ should keep up with this trend. Yearend companies needs money to operate their business, so this matter is important.

Christmas ornament

Yesterday I went to Roppongi after job to meet former coworker. The Christmas trees and ornament were brilliant and showed how is this season is peaceful and cheerful.

Clean up in year-end

Yesterday I cleaned up my house's outside windows. It was rather warm and comfortable for working outdoor. This is a seasonal event for me and this shows us the new-year is coming. Some neighboring people were also cleaning house.  

No time for waiting change

2010 is going to change to 2011. But in Japan many theme are not solved yet. Among those theme I worry about the economic difference between young and old people. This must be solved quickly because especially young people need chance to go into the society and work and enjoy life. One is education which can solve it , I think. Without any those idea, government may enforce to re-valance the economic situation between young and old people in the future.

The style and color is bright and energetic and this concept car become symbolic and legendary because this production is limited. Company culture makes workers' style

Today in Japan, there are two types of companies; one is challenging and growing and another is stable and supported by rules or former success.Workers also divide two types. One is seeking success rather than stability and another like stability rather than growing. And people, who prefer stability, don't have motivation to change their job and working style and they want to keep their own job and role. The more companies want to be stable, the more workers style change to be seeking stability, and the more workers want to be
stable, the more companies' style change to be seeking stability.

Today is a newspaper holiday. This type of holiday is very strange in this Internet society. There is not so holiday in Internet media.

According to NIKKEI, Electric New Service customer is increasing up to 100,000. 2/3 of those customers read paper also.This means that many customers needs e-news and e- news has its own value to survive under this difficult economy.

Mr. Negishi,won the Novel Prize, writed this comment in Asahi Shinbun: "Pursue your lofty dream with eternal optimism". This comment means that pursuing big dream needs many struggle and competition and in order to win, we needs optimism and never give up mind.

UR policy is good or bad?

The Ministry of Land is going to sell the rental houses which UR has in order to do restructuring. The rent of those houses may be raised in the future because of this policy. But this may badly effect the inhabitants lives. This policy starts from expensive houses but in the future this policy may expand to lower ones. This will be serious in the future.

Here comes December. In Japan called "SHIWASU" means that (not only students but) also teacher have to run in this busy month.  

Real employee situation is more serious.

According to today's NIKKEI, the ratio of university graduates who have already unofficial agreement of employment is about 28.9% in SAITAMA prefecture. It is serious more than what we already know. About 3 of 4 cannot have unofficial employee agreement before graduate.

The real value of being stable

In Japan people are going to worry about the future life and instability. So some seek to become stable, sacrificing their future and lifestyle(marriage or having a baby) to save money to be stable. This is curious because the virtue of lifestyle may be more valuable than just to be stable.

Lack of resource, talented people

Japan is a island country and is said that there needs resource from abroad because there are not enough amount of resource( oil and energy for example). And now the lack resource is manpower. Japanese society is short of talented people who are willing to do work as much as possible and have clear opinion responsible for.

According to today's Newspaper export to developing area is growing now almost up to half of the world. This means that the relationship to those area(especially Asia) is going to be more and more important. What we teach and know formerly was rather related to developed area and US and EU area. We also educate ourselves the history and culture in Asian developing area.

In this long depression business minds of people and companies in Japan is now rather cold. Under this circumstance the role of public sector may be changed. The new role of them is to show new business model or expand the demands of those business. Formerly public sector should not invade the business area of private sector. But now this new role is going to be discussed, I think.

Recall system works?

The recall campaign of Nagoya City Council is going to be a failure because of a lot of invalid voting. This will raise the mind of what the democracy is in Japan and the decision of the Election Administration Committee turns out to be a very serious issue.

How to get good influence from Asian power?

In Asia people with powerful and strong will are increasing and they may change this area to be one of the best growing area. We Japanese should know and be influenced by those people. But on the other hand, we do not have enough chance to meet those people and feel those trends directly. Then what should we do? I think that Internet community is important for us to know what the real Asia is going on. We should master and use heavily to communicate and getting more and more information from Asian growing area.

According to today's NIKKEI, big commercial firms are going to start new training and study program for 20's workers. In those program they must experience to work and live abroad for working abroad in the future. This is adjusting to global trend.

Nowadays Japanese University have to be changed adjusting to today's globalization in many aspect; for example economy,business and lifestyle. Students inside those University should be announced what is the real globalization going on and become in the future. I bought famous Japanese Encyclopedia of contemporary words "Gendai Yougo No Kisotishiki" yesterday. This book is published once a year. And when I get this book, the year-end is coming. Even if we can get many information from the Internet, this kind of book is needed because its handy and we can know the relation between one information and another, and also know the changing of word. 

GM return to the market

Yesterday GM' stock go back to the market(IPO) and this US famous and symbolic company's revival get people better feelings about the market and economy. This revival takes only 17 months from the bankruptcy. We Japanese should know and learn this speed revival mind.

Inequality in election

The inequality of vote right in election became big issues in Japan. The inequality is up over 1:5! It means one has 1 vote right but another one has only 0.2 or less vote right. This is clear inequality. But it takes many times to correct. Why? This is serious problem in Japanese policy.

Moving office

Last night  I came back from NAGOYA by SHINKANSEN express train. There were a lot of people who reading magazine and newspaper, and some were doing their work using Laptop computer. This was like "Moving office". This moving office image may change this stable office and work in Japanese companies.

Yesterday night I watched "RYOMA-DEN"(Japanese popular TV drama) with over1,000 people through  u-stream Internet TV system. This event was held in a hall of KOCHI-city where RYOMA has born. Through the Internet I can watch the lecture and discussion about RYOMADEN in this holl and attend the discussion,using Twitter. This is real interactive TV !

Yesterday I attended some Study group where people can study management by English. So students also learn English for tool. They discussed management theme actively.

SANYO DENKI(Japanese electrical equipment maker) has started the new machine 'GOPAN' yesterday. This machine is baking bread from rice(GOHAN in Japanese). The wheat is poor harvest this year because of the unusual climate on the other hand rice is good and reasonable price. And also there are many people who like rice made bread because of its consistency or out of allergy.

According to NIKKEI, small and medium sized enterprise of snack makers are going to do overseas expansion by oneself not join with some big companies. This means that some Japanese small companies is now developing their own management skills to adjust to global market. This is good news for Japanese business also.

Yesterday I visited KODAIRA and KUNITACHI City where I lived when I was a university student. Those home town raise a feeling how was the university days and how I have changed from what I am in those days.

The Democratic Party became into difficult situation after this Midterm election. This means that under this depression political decision have to be difficult and if the government is going to spend money to support peoples health and lives, then many other people disagree to this expenditure because of National finance.

What is important is..

We should notice to what we have, not to what we do not have. We often confuse those two things.When we notice lack matter, we do not become satisfied with present situation and always complain. We should think and feel gratitude in order to have good and happy life.

Alumni association meeting

I attend Alumni association meeting yesterday. That is 20th anniversary from graduating from university. I was special thankful to have good health and be able to attend those meeting.The attendants have their own experience after becoming a working member of society.Those diverse experiences makes our conversation more interesting for us.

For example, the program about cooking show some amusing mistake about cooking and show how to entertain even if the cooking is not success. This types of program is brand new and suggest us capabilities of TV to entertain and get us comfortable.

In developed and developing countries, economic law and rule is changing nowadays. The purpose of this change is to develop and raise their economic power, especially intellectual. For example the rule of Antitrust Law makes their companies de facto rule and decides the activities inside their countries.

According to Today's CNN, Merapi volcano erupted and tsunami has hit because of the big earthquake and big typhoon is comming now. People in Indonesia suffered from this three natural disaster. We should think and support their life as same Asian neighbors.

According to NIKKEI, the market price of stock market in the world increased to highest level after the financial crisis in Sep.2008. This is a good news for economy in the near future because the market price is usually affected by how is going to be in the near future. But on the other hand Japanese market is not so good as other market.  We should think about this trend.

Why is the lunch break needed in Tokyo market?

According to NIKKEI, the Tokyo Stock Exchange shorten the lunch break from 1.5hours to 1 hour. Before this break is going to be abolished, but not done. I do not know the reason of this change, but there may be little reason of continuing the lunch break in stock market. To change and raise the Japanese Stock market seriously, this types of change must be executed immediately.

Growth leads to be public, Stability leads to be what?

Nowadays Japanese stock market lose power because people cannot expect the growth of Japanese market anymore. Japanese people are likely to be stable rather than growing. So this Japanese market cannot have proper chance to rise. To be stable is not good for Japanese people, especially for young Japanese. When people seek to grow people are going to be for public because to think and do for public is needed to grow their business. But when people seek to be stable, they protect their own rights and merit. And people are going to be more and more selfish. This trends makes young people,who do not have their own assets, difficult to change their life better. This is serious problem and one of the reasons of Japanese depression. 

Personnel management should be more enhanced

Under the economic depression, many Japanese companies do not have good idea for changing their "bureaucratic" organization adjusted to today's era. This is mainly because changing personnel management is difficult. It is most seriously unsolved problems how to manage personnel matter properly and with proper speed. We do not have clear idea to it. But we should change ourselves gradually.

According to NIKKEI NEWS, lounge for studying are increasing nowadays in Tokyo. This is because people who have job and also would like to study more to career development is also increasing. I think this is good trend as they may change themselves to adjust to today's changing economic scene. And also this may mean that old schools should rethink about what they teach now. That curriculum is proper for today's students needs? This lounge boom also teach us that people,who study oneself without going to school, is also increasing now.

Impressed by the story

I read one episode in todays' ASAHI-SHINBUN, the story is this; one student, who failed university entrance examination, become a worker in delivering the newspaper everyday. Next year he challenged the exam again, and in the morning of the exam, a lot of snow was falling and he must deliver newspaper on foot. He felt that he may become late for the examination, at that time he became aware of person who coming behind him. The person is his co-worker,also student-worker, he supported his delivery and he and his friends could pass the exam. Good and impressed story.

Regulation should be opened to society

There are a lot of business regulations in Japan. Those are effective when the purpose and content are opened and known by many people. If contrarily the purpose and content is not clear and unknown, the regulation is not effective and the situation may become worse as people and companies just avoid it or do not take business risks. This means that especially business regulations should be more and more opened and tested by society. 

What makes people a good leader?

Recently we Japanese needs good leader of country, company and family because there is fast changing and few idea to manage that. But we do not know how we can find the candidate of those leader. Then we should grow those leader rather than find. What makes people a good leader? That is the point. I think it is something like "skill" rather than "character". So we can train a good leader by some education and training programs.

In Chile mine,33 people has been rescued yesterday. This type of rescue story get us many valuable thinking and become aware of what "team work" is. Never-giveup-mind and optimistic mind leads us to success.

The government announced that the young female income surpassed males' in 2009. This is affected by the growing of service sector. I think that this is good news for us because we can rethink about the role of male and female workers in Japan. There were discrimination between man and woman in many work place in Japan. But this should change drastically because many women may be more able than men in many work place and the fair challenge may get the business stronger.

Go out of office worker thinking!

We needs proper strategy and doing under economic difficult situation (strong yen and long-term depression etc.). But we Japanese are not good at those creative doing especially for one's job matter. This is because we are excessively familiar with "office worker thinking" under long-long stable economy. This types of thinking is partial (not complete), so such idea has not enough power to be applied to company's management.

Hot Spring give power

I visited Hot spring area "YUGAWARA-ONSEN" last weekend with my family. This area is very famous and old ONSEN resort near Tokyo. It took about 2.5 hours from Tokyo to yugawara by car. This area is near beautiful beach and also ravine(river). So the scenery has variety and this leads visitors relaxed and give power to restart their work.

According to newspaper, several banks are going to expand the new loan for growing sector "SEICHO-YU-SHI". This type of loan started under BOJ(Bank Of Japan)'s new types of loan to commercial banks. This growing sector is 'raising environmengt' ,'new energy'and 'health care '. Those sector are very essential for our living. So we can easily imagine the growing trend. We can expect that those loans will raise and accelerate the speed of expanding business.

How to activate the living of Japanese?

There are a lot of "assignments" in Japanese education-system. First of all, we should rethink the purpose of education under the Japanese situation in these days. And when we do so , we should  image what going on the young peoples' future. Without proper reform, the social gap between rich elder and poor young generation may leads the pessimistic atmosphere. Yesterday Mr.Negishi and Mr. Suzuki won the Novel prize.This news got Japanese mind lively and be interested in Japanese study in scientific fields.Their study and great discovery was taken place 40years ago and those study was put to practical use(making medicine and liquid crystal). This means that the great study and research often need long time to be accepted or appreciated. This also means that there needs to be a lot of support from family,friends and co-workers. So we also needs those "team work" to accomplish great study and work.

Dabate skill is needed

In Japan it is said that students are not good at debating or supporting result. It may be because they have no chance to enjoy debating. Alternatively they are recommended to have their own idea or opinion. What happens if they have their own idea or opinion without any debating? The result is that they have only conclusion without any proper and plenty of reason. It makes their situation difficult after graduation. In real society people are needed to have reasoning. In this process, people who have only conclusion(without any reason) face the difficulty to live under the changing circumstances.

Bank of Japan will decide the additional financial strategy today. This is very important as Japanese economy is drifting without clear destination.

According to NIKKEI, Indian steel maker JSW are going to invest to Japanese steel maker JFE. Those two companies are going to hold stock each other. And in the future they will make blast furnace in India. And also the technical resources will be heightened because of this cooperation.

Yesterday the iPS cell research institute of Kyoto University held  lecture to the public in order to get the general public to know what going on the study of iPS and what kind of good effect to cure disease is expected.I think this event is good chance for people to know and have interest in those scientific research.

This event is usual in Japan because many companies employ fresh graduates at the same time.I think that this system should be changed partially for companies to employ more diverse and excellent students.

Nowadays Japanese yen is going higher,but stock market is not active. This phenomenon is curious in the world. What is this means? Who buy the Japanese yen? I think this is Japanese banks and funds who buy Japanese governmental bonds that raise Japanese yen. The cluster amaryllis "HIGAN-BANA" has blossomed yesterday in my house. It was a little late this year because of the hot weather in this summer. This flower lead and get us aware of the changing of season and our feeling. It is one of the blessing we can receive.

How to improve the skill of negotiation?  The answer is to practice negotiation more and more. This types of skill is related to just experience,not so related to literacy. It is said that Japanese do not have advantege of negotiation. This may be caused by educational system.

I bought a new dictionary

I bought "LONGMAN Active Study Dictionary" last week. The purpose is to change the English dictionary because the last one become old and out of date. This new one is published with colorful pages. Also with CD-ROM.This will help me to study productively.

John Lennon Museum

I visited John Lennon Museum yesterday. There were many visitors because this Museum are going to close on September 30. It's a pity this closing but the fan's memories about this Museum never become diminished.

According to Today's news,Japanese excessive job hunting and searching gets students lack of time for educating  themselves through university life. Many student may graduate without proper and plenty of experiences. According to the governmental research,the number of people who become over 80 years old in Japan increased over 8million. Over 65 years-old is 23.1% of all Japanese. We should think and do to it. For example, let's create the new idea which activate elder people through supporting young people to be educated and become leader of society.

I went to Outlet store"Sano Premium Outlet" yesterday with my family. There were a lot of people who had bought branded clothes, shoes and other items. September(and March) is the settlement of accounts for many companies. So the Sales in those months is very popular in Japan. Under this depression in economy,those Sales gather and attract many people.

The new cabinet has been formed yesterday.The slogan of this cabinet is "Do what is decided.", Prime Minister Kan said. This slogan suggest just to do and realize something, not what to do. The important thing is what to do. Doing what the government decide to do is just their of course duty and commitment.

Japanese two big die making companies(which produce KANAGATA) are going to merge as governmental arrangement. Those companies have to merge in order to survive, because in Japan there are excessive struggle between Japanese many same trade companies.It also means that downsizing is very difficult because of too solid labour system.

Selling yen to moderate the monetary change

Yesterday Japanese government and BOJ(the Bank Of Japan) has started market intervention. The yen fallen down and the stock rose.This policy may be effective to moderate the trend and support export business. But we also need how to rise the demand  internal Japan.

Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Kan was elected as the president of the Democratic Party of Japan. He said that employment is most important policy because people can take part in society as employee especially young age.I think that this is true but we should also become aware of the alternative participant. For example share holder or consumer management.

Autumn has come at last. The air around the house seems changing mostly to new-autumn air. I would like to change mind,clothes and thinking to the new season. Seasonal changing give us the chance to change ourselves. In Japan we have four seasons, so we have four times chance to change ourselves. This is good point of Japanese.

Business persons are likely to do substantial work and live a full life.Then what is needed to do so?  I think that watching and watching and watching concrete "fact",not abstract. And people with higher education should take care of this because they may value abstract rule rather than fact itself once in a while.

Nowadays Japanese people seek to educate oneself because the social and economic situation is changing drastically. The new bar examination' result was announced yesterday. Fewer people has passed the exam. It is very ambiguous how many people are expected to passed per year. As research company announced, there is no company which goes bankrupt with over 10 billion yen loan in August. This is mysterious because the Japanese economy is not good recently. One reason is the easy-money policy and another reason may be easy-"living without challenge" policy.

I visited Singapore 4days with my family last weekend. I was very impressed by the many construction begun in many places inside the city,new Hotel,new F1 race place, casino,apartment-houses and new subway. Health has much to do with economy and productivity. GM has applied to IPO August.18. It means that GM's revival become near. This speedy process and change will teach us that we Japanese could do the same because the law and the rule for company's rival plan was imported from US. The difference between US and Japan is not the rule but the work.

The committee of privatizing NIHON-YUSEI has held yesterday. The Chairman Mr. Tanaka said that NIHON-YUSEI should not expand new business until this privatization start. Today is 65th anniversary of the end of the war. The fact of the World War 2 is reported and discussed in this day. So we Japanese are able to know those fact and remind the value of peace.

Excessive strong yen lead to change the shape of Japanese economy.The manufacture company for commodity is going to go abroad more. And the opportunity for getting those job inside Japan will decrease. So the part of  labors in Japan may need to change their job. According to BBC news, US giant Kraft has reported higher than expected first quarter profit.This is because of one merger;acquiring Cadbury in this year.That merger was controversial,with a lot of disagreement or argument,but it turned out to increase the profit of Kraft. And the process of after merger is also remarkable.About one third of Kraft's top 30 executives are from Cadbury.

Today is the day of Hiroshima(August 8) atomic bomb. We should know and remind the necessity of peace. 65years has passed from the day. But there are several war in the world. So we must get and keep every one's peace.

According to today's NIKKEI column "KEIZAI-KYOSITU", Prof. Noma said that Japanese companies did not R&D and facility investment recently rather than the past days(before 1980s). And contrarily those companies increased the dividend. What does it mean? Prof. Noma point out that those companies prefer distribution rather than growth or future business. This means that those managers may give up the management itself. It is a serious problem.

According to newspaper, several elder people(over 100 years old) is unknown where they live. This is something like "Mystery". This episode is reflected how the local community and neighborhood community is collapsed today. Yesterday I attended meeting about G-30 project (increasing international students in Japanese university). We discussed the matter of how we should welcome and treat international students to activate Japanese universities. For that purpose ,in Japanese university the curriculum in English is needed. And also the special study which interests those students is also needed. On campus life the attitude of Japanese students is important. Open minded and having many interest about foreign countries is demanded.

Summer festival season

August has come. The summer festival season has started. Today, famous festival NEBUTA-festival start in Aomori. I visited and took part in this festival twice when I was university student. I was impressed and appreciated what the festival MATSURI is. MATSURI is living itself.

Innovation training

Today's NIKKEI column, Prof. Lester C Thurow said that what Japanese need is not strong export power but "innovation". Recently,Japanese companies do not produce innovative product.This is the biggest problem in Japanese Economy.And he also said that for innovation, its not the governmental matter but educational matter to solve this serious theme. This opinion refreshed me. Proper education can stimulate student's innovative mind and this change will turn out to be a real innovation in the future.

Unemployment ratio is rising

The unemployment ratio of Japan is rising now. Especially, young people(15-24age)'s ratio is over 11%. It is worst in history. Young people needs job not only for the money but also for learn how to work and skill up oneself. So the young people's worst ratio is very serious. I think that some drastic policy is needed, for example, "work sharing obligation for training young people".

Not only the political cost but also political effect

According to today's paper, the government is going to announce the total cost of policy to save money. It is better than nothing but I think that the political effect is also needed to announce to us. If the effect of the policy is not proper, then we may not need the policy itself. Cost is only one side.

Tropical climate

In Japan Squall,sudden wind, is frequent in this summer. The climate pattern has changed to tropical type. So we Japanese should adjust ourselves to this new type of climate.It may test us how we can control our own health under any climates and weather.

Prora-ta is not a strategy but just a solution

According to today's paper, the government decided that the criterion of the demand for budgetary appropriations have to be decreased ten percent. This criterion is like 'Prora-ta'. The prora-ta means that every government offices must decrease ten percent (same rate). This policy cannot be reflected political needs or changes. It is only a solution for cutting national expenditure.

The cucumber which we planted last month has grown proper to eat. So we picked up two of them. I think that this experience show us the expectation of agriculture DIY(Do It Your Self).

Morning glory is growing now. I watch it every morning. The change may be faster than mankind. I wish I can learn the growing speed from the plant.

According to today's NIKKEI, China government is going to promote new energy industry about 5 trillion yuan in next ten years. It is very impressive policy and we should know and watch how this policy realize.

According to research, Japanese University's students spend much time and effort to get job. Job hunting is going to be a main theme for them. And they often consult their parents what kind of job is proper and fitted to their character. Job hunting is just job hunting.They should be open not only to getting job not also to the society and foreign countries.

I got a stag beetle (KUWAGATA-MUSHI) yesterday at home. I and younger son set device(just spread honey to tree) and next afternoon the stag beetle was near the tree.

University's future

According to today's NIKKEI, Prof. Hamada(the president of Tokyo University) said that the budget of University is going to be cut more in the near future. If so, the management of University will be very serious. I think that this lack of support by the government cannot be expected in the future because of the tax revenue insufficiency. So University is needed to get money from not only the government but also from other system.

Imbalance government in the near future?

Recently the insufficiency of tax revenue became more and more important and serious theme. We should know and decide what types of government is needed. And also we have to research and investigate what types of government is possible. If tax revenue will not increase, we may have to choose imbalanced government or small government after all.   

Small refresh party and english school

Yesterday I met old co-worker and have a small party in O-temachi. We discussed work and life,especially what going on when children grow up in the future. That talk refreshed me very much. And after that I attended English school in skype at home. That was a full and enjoyable after work.

According to today's BBC , property market in China is going to be moderate or slowdown in the near future by the trade restriction. This is because the excessive trade(what we call bubble economy) should be controlled by the government to get proper, moderate growth in economy. Japanese experience in real estate trade will be useful in this case.

The election will change what?

The government party could not get the majority in the election yesterday. It means that any bill(enacting law) will be difficult to agreed without cooperating with other party. This makes the stability of the government weak. On the other hand, the argument in the Diet will be more rised.

Plants show me growth by proper speed

Last weekend I planted cucumber. Those cucumbers got yellow flowers and the vine grow and grow to twin something. I felt real growth. The plant showed me what the proper growth is. Under low-level growth society, we forgot to think and feel the growth. This is a serious problem, I think. 

Elementary school lesson

I visited Elementary school in Edogawa-ku Tokyo and attended art class(clay work). I made clock shape out of clay with many students.Students were very kind and open minded to me (foreigner or outsider). Some teached me how to mold proper shape and some helped me to do so. And they showed me their work(beetle, piano and rose etc). This experience reminded me the importance of doing ,doing and doing before theory and argument.

Unknown resource - water -

According to today's ASAHI, the government are going to export water produced at sewage disposal plant. Water do not exist evenly and water is needed constantly in several countries. And this plan is in order to satisfy the industrial use of water in mining companies. I think this is hopeful doing in the near future. There may be other unknown resource inside Japan.

Home agriculture

I planted cucumbers and tomato in planter yesterday. I expected those plants grow properly and gave them fertilizer. And after planting, shower had come and felt a little cool afternoon. I was refreshed.

English School by Skype

I began to learn English conversation through Skype (remote communication tool) . The lesson is very effective for me because I have to say and make communication with teacher through the Internet and those teacher cannot use Japanese. Many of those teachers are university students in Philippine. I would like to continue this program and improve English skills more.

The popular program Prof. Sandel(Harvard) lecture of NHK has finished last week. I watched the last program today by video. I was very impressed by the active discussion and the good atmosphere at this lecture. The attendant(students) have different kinds of background and many diverse opinions. Those lecture style is very impressive to me.

RAKUTEN (Japanese famous internet shopping mall company) decided their public language from Japanese to English. This is because this company is now growing abroad and the foreign workers are increasing. This episode is symbolic in business scene. Almost every kind of business is related to foreign growing market so the business language turn out to be English in many cases.

Yesterday I attended to some lecture about Chinese economy in the near future. The growth of Chinese economy has just started now. The lecture(famous analyst) that the growth trend will continue ten years or more. This is very hopeful also for us because Japan is next to China.

I visited Tokyo Disney Land this weekend. There were many visitors from many area in Japan and also from foreign countries. According to news, after July 1 more Chinese people are going to get Visa to Japan because the rule of permission Visa is easier to get. I think this makes good change to sightseeing business in Japan.

Yesterday's result of the game to Netherlands was 1-0(Japanese lost game). But the content of the game was very valuable for us to watch and enjoy.There were several scene in defence and offense parts. Miracle defence of Goal keeper,and good shoots for a goal. That was a entertained ourselves.

According to Bank of Japan's report, national and local governmental debt increased over 1,000 trillion yen this April. This may turn out to be a serious problem.We should think and do to manage this debt.The sales tax increase is not the only answer to this.

I visited famous "SANKEI-EN"garden in YOKOHAMA this weekend. This garden was founded by Mr. Hara who succeeded in trading raw silk in the Meiji Era(when the exportation of silk exceeded other countries). Inside the garden, there are also several historic,valuable house and shrine.

Wild Rose in my house's hedge has fully blossomed. It is pretty and fragrant.Bees are flying around the flowers and help to be pollinated. This is early summer scene. Those things make me aware of change. It is important for me to have those things(change indicators).

Today's ASAHI SHINBUN said that National Library in Japan, China and Korea are going to sign an agreement for providing common e-library system to share their e-contents mutually. This is very valuable policy because this enable people to use beyond the border.And this is all the more useful as those Asian country's culture and languages are partially effected historically.

According to today's NIKKEI SHINBUN,the number of clubs for aged people is decreasing continuously. This is very curious phenomenon ,because the number of aged people are increasing in these days.This article mentions that the reason of this may be that it get difficult to decide the officer of the club.I think that this should be supported by another system or people because the needs of those clubs is important yet.

This is noticeable because the Board begin to understand that nonformal education is valuable and useful for support and activate formal education. Both formal and non formal, education has same goal ,to educate their students properly.

I had a chance to meet and discuss career matter with freshpeople of some financial corporation. They are interested in their own career as much as career in this company.I feel this is recent trend and this trend has possibility for changing the company's future, because they may be aware of ideal company style and image through thinking about their own career or their ideal role in this society.

A three-days trip

I went to small journey with my family and friends. We enjoyed delicious foods and hot spring. I could feel and think about resort-style-life. People were enjoying gathering shellfish at low tide and others playing tennis or golf games. There are many types of pleasure in this resort. We went to museum for musical instrument in HAMAMATU City , some limestone cave near HAMANAKO Lake and AKAI-SEKI(historical barrier face the lake and sea). Many types of event refreshed and stimulated us.

Expo Shanghai starts today!! I expect that this event will stimulate our mind and show us the positive image in the future. I will enjoy this event through the Internet and TV program.

JAL announced restructuring plan yesterday. 45 flight route(about 30%) are going to be abolished. But on the other hand, several Local government do not agree this plan because they need to keep the flight route to their Pref. Public side's needs versus Private side's needs. But we must not waste time and national money.

Today's NIKKEI column DAIKI-SHOUKI said that even if Japanese government have not enough money to upgrade society, private wealth is able to be good use quoting Mr Maejima and Mr Bill Gates.I think that this idea is very impressed because it may be breakthrough without tax increase.

I think that this annoucement will stimulate the market to adjust to this new stage. In this new stage, the rule of business is going to be changed speedily. In recent years several big English schools got default and many students lost their advance payment. Through those experiment or announcement, many Japanese people are hesitating to go to those schools so the market of English school  is not growing,though English is getting more and more important for us.

Learning ability is different from working ability

Those two types of ability should be discriminated and working ability is needed in business scene.In Japan learning ability is well activated by preparing for the entrance examination of university. On the other hand, working ability is not taught properly. The working ability is often taught on the job training, and those teaching process is often unclear or hard to be distinguished, so some workers lose chances to be trained themselves through those tacit training.

I think that this style is not good way to study what is changing drastically and fast in these days.

I think this is very unique policy because to expand the business companies usually devide the power of governance. I think that google choose speed rather than expansion.

According to NIKKEI BUSINESS 4.12, Mr.yamamoto(the president of business hotel chain) said that it is not enough for management to find the theory of the business. Those kind of management will turn out to be a confusion inside the company.I think that is very important.Theory is true just under some condisions and in real business those condisions are changing continuously. So theory is not enough for management.

According to BOJ(Bank of Japan)'s research, supply exceeds demand in domestic category of business, for example restaurants,hotels and textile industries. I think this research said that those kinds of business management should change their today's business and if not so they suffer from excessive discount war among rivals.Those discount war exists in beef rice bowl(GYU-DON) fast food restaurants.  

Net News chaos

It is said that paper-based news will be changed to net-based news. Certainly many paper-based news's business is not good because they cannot get neccessary income from advertisement.But on the other hand, net-based news has not grown up to paper-based news level. So I worry that people are going to lose good media to get neccessory information. Internet do not inform us automatically because there are not system to select and edit for us. It is serious problem.

According to today's newspaper, eel farming succeeded completely. I think this is remarkable think for us because those marine products is going to be rare and become hard to supply plentifully. Those kind of research is valuable and delicions.

According to today's newspaper,China is goint to integrate 127 governmental companies to 80 before 2020.Its purpose is to improve business quality and contral investment properly. I think this is proper for long term vision. We Japanese government should study from this management. 

Anyway,that is a bad road

Governmental companies harass private companies in Japan. Especially communication,media and mail service company' case are noticeable.When governmental companies have power, private companies will be depressed, on the other hand , when governmental companies fail in business nations will be beared its debt. We should think how to balance the governmental business and private business, I think.

I heard some opinion about ability to be educated. His opinion is that we should educate not only internal ability but also external ability(for example communicating or presentation ability).It is very interesting idea, I think.

Oden food in Shizuoka

I went to Shizuoka to visit my relatives. And I visited a Oden eating house at Shizuoka station. Oden is a popular and famous Japanese food(containing all kinds of ingredients cooked in a special broth of soy sauce,sugar,sake). Shizuoka style Oden is unique. Shaking fish-meal-powder is on the top of oden.It was delicious and rich taste.

New parties rush has come

Several political new parties is going to start this spring,preparing for next election. I think that Japanese people keep calm to this movement because people will  feel that  the purpose of those parties(especially gathering menbers from completely defferent political situation) is for getting their seat , not for creating new good policy.

Real difficulty may be more serious

According to today's newspaper column, there is a doubt about the unofficial decision ratio of university graduates(almost 80%) .Because this data is made by sample hearing(only 62 university 6200 person ). On the other hand, Chiba labor bureau accounced that the ratio is 57.8%!! by hearing every university all 23,000 person in Chiba area. I think we should think the situation is worse than 80% and know how to get students have their job to grow themselves.

New year has started

Today is the first day of fiscal year.Many Japanese companies and governments' fiscal year start April 1 and end March 31. I will get focused and do my job with more intension and also with humor.

Textbook

According to today's newspaper,the government is going to increase page of textbook for elementary school .This suggests that students in elementary school are expected scholastic ability more before. I think that this makes parents think how to get their children master this volume.

Yesterday I visited Bonsai art museum in Saitama city. This museum was opened just yesterday. Many people are there,watching Bonsai, located inside Japanese style room or located in garden outside the buidings. And inside the building,there are display about the history of Bonsai. Enjoy Kabuki

I went to Kabuki theater"KABUKIZA" and watched one program"ONNA-SHIBARAKU" yesterday with my family.It was my first experience to go to Kabuki. The "real" Kabuki was different from what I imaged with something like prejudice. The Kabuki program was attractive,frendly and customerintimate.

Public junior high school's purpose?

I attended a meeting to think about public compulsory education school. Teachers,Principals and parents came together and school consultant(my coworker) lectured that we found serious gap between what teachers lecture in public schools and what is tested in entrance exam of high rank universities,investigating the entrance exam. So students and parents are anxious about preparing for entrance exam and change the school from public to private school or go to cram school after school.That trend makes public school's atmosphere confusion and disorder.And we now think and do to reform public school(esp junior high school).And we and participants sampled real test and discussed about those theme. That was very helpful meeting.

Break off the merger again

Japanese famous department store TAKASHIMAYA and HANKYU-HANSHIN announced that merger negotiation broken.This break off teach us the difficulty of agreement between Japanese companies. According to today's newspaper, the reason is that store managing rule is difficult. But this is very small reason compare to the merit of this merger, I think. This breaking decision turn out to be a suggestion to us. 

Ankake apaghetti

I ate Ankake spaghetti,polular food in Nagoya city. That meal was quite filling. There were many customers who need this menu. Food reflect living and life style. I think that to eat those local food is valuable to understand those area life and living.

1Q84

I read 1Q84(Famous and popular novel by Murakami.Haruki) Vol.1 amd Vo1.2 this weekend. It was fantastic but somewhat dejavu story. Time,passed thing and people, to whom we could have communicated each other, this story manege those thing inside the story and we can remind the past.

Trimming trees

Yesterday I trimmed trees in my house. It was windy day, so many branches of those trees touched to outside wall. After the trimming, this problem was solved. And that made me refreshed.It was truly a case of killing two birds with one stone.

It was windy and rainy last night. This weather is leading to the Spring. It may be warmer and warmer,and the cherry trees will bloom soon.

The Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ)  has slogan "To people,not to concrete". This means that the government should use annual expenditure directly to people rather than to build infrastructure(for example dam). I think that to people means to educate and skilled up.  

The price of land is falling

According to research, the price of Japanese land is falling continuously. This means the Japanese economy is not so good and is not expected to grow in the future. I think that this is rather good for ourselves because the land is resource of business and life.The cost of resource is going down,so it may be accessible for us. But it needs one condition, the idea of business and life must exist.

Tax increase ? when big earthquake happen

According to today's MAINICHI-SHINBUN,govermental advisers group for measures against big earthquake said that the government will be necessory to increase tax when we have big earthquake. I think that this is curious paradox. If tax increase when people suffer those serious quake, those people's living is going to be double punched. So the government should have sound finance in order to support people's life.

If companies do not obey this rule,those companies must be dissolved by the government. I think this rule is very helpful for us to think about corporate governance and activating society.

How to use valuable digital archives

The National Diet Library has started to open the digital archives to the public. Those are histoliacal art, books, photo or letters. I think those are valuable for us to know and get ourselves interested in history, historical mankind or culture. And those are also valuable for education. I would like to find how to make use of those archives. 

Basic income policy

According to today's NIKKEI newspaper,Mr.YAMAZAKI ,popular economist, promote the basic income policy. This policy means that the government give every Japanese people money(like pension) for continueing their lives. He said that this policy is more efficient than todays' other policy because in this policy tax money is not decreasing by intermediation. I think that this idea is unique and valuable. But I would like to add one condition that this money must be used not only for consumption but also for investment (for example education,house and equipment).

Yesterday I met young officers belonging to each government office and discussed ideal education to get students learn 'leadership'. I think that to master leadership is to know mankind,world and themselves. Leadership is needed in today's changing situation. 

Students are looking for job

According to today's paper, about 20% of university graduates(80,000 people) are looking for their job now. It is very serious for our society because we are thinking and teached that graduating from university is good entrance to society. But this situation is changing to somewhere else.

New LDP or New party

Mr. YOSANO,ex-minister of Finance said that he decided to start new political party if LDP(leveral democratic party of Japan) is not change its party-style in BUNGEI-SHUNJU 2010.4. I expect such argument is more activate in this difficult situation of Japanese and World future.

I bought TV and applied eco-point to change e-money. This process was very complexed and difficult to understand. I think that some people are not able to apply.What is the policy that some cannot access because of its misleading procedure??

Public emplyees's reform

According to today's ASAHI GLOBE, many government workers are worrying about how to do in present political leading style. I think this is not so serious problem,because if necessary the government can recruit civil worker from provate sector and present civil workers can change their job to private companies or start their own job's outside the government. And this change may get those people skilled up to survive in this society.

Necessary public facility

According to today's newspaper, Tochigi district changed traffic signs to emission type, traffic accidents decreased remarkably. Drivers can find those signs more quickly at night because they are shining. I think this is neccesory facility,and there may be more neccesary public facility for our safety.  

How to use governmental bank practically

Ministry of national strategy Mr.Sengoku say in NIKKEI BUSINESS, he would like to use governmental bank(JBIC etc) to support and realize policy. This may suggest that there are some room for spending more money to stimulate economy or international contribution.I think that it may be true but more important thing is that those governmental bank could show the new frontier by deciding new loan to venture business or growing companies and can suggest and teach to commercial and private banks loan sections.

New child care plan

Accroding to Today's newspaper, several university will have connection with Wards to support child are and education in Tokyo. I think this is good idea because there are many facilities and able persons inside universities and it will be merit for those persons to take part in those program. This idea may be applied to other schools( prep-school and cram-school ), I think.

Regional holiday

The government is going to change part of  national holiday to regional holiday according to today's paper.The purpose of this policy is to ease the traffic jam or to increase the operating ratio of resort hotel. I think this is not the national matter but local matter. So if necessary, local government should make local holiday,thinking of local conditions.

In today's NIKKEI-SHINBUN column, a long life company is reported.This company is "TAIHEI"in Chiba district.This company is founded in 1695 as liquor brewing industry.And in 1962,this company started new business. That is delivering food ingredients to customers family"TAIHEI-FAMILY-SET". This business grew and grew. I was interested in this change.

Change in entrance exam.

According to magazine(TOYO-KEIZAI), the entrance examination to public combined junior/senior high school is special. It is not test for checking students scholastic ability but thinking power. So this will change the mind of parents and educational companies.I expect this trend lead the figure of examination style in Japan. Because in the real scene, the thinking power is valuable for us to solve the problems.

According to today's newpapers column, Japanese economical-law is going to be constructed substantially rather than formally. This trend makes change to company management of course. Managers are expected to recognize and understand by what purpose those law regulates. And when company is going to plan new business or M&A, managers must think this demand,I think.

Yesterday I attended some meeting about discussion of the international standardization.In Japan the standardization in manufacturing company is highly advanced,but in service sector it is not so matured(including educational business).I think this standardization process will make service sector more activated.

Professionals are suffering the difficult situation in Japan. Of course, professional skills are more and more valuable but the cost(which companies can afford) decrease in these days. Still more, many companies are spending salary for ordinary workers(no professhonal skills) because of today's bad economy. I worry that yound people are hesitating  to make effort to be professionals.

This company is the first case of mutual style insurance company in Japan. So I think that this news is a little sad. But this changing process is very good suggestion to us when we think about changing companies style. This company is going private and giving almost all customers its new companies stock. So they can get some money when they sell this stock. It is very fair process.This process must be studied when some government company is going private and public. At that time those stock might be delivered to national people.

Recently most of social matter are committed to person and those people are floating without a sense of belonging to any group.So requidity of social thing and proprem are increased.This requidity makes people worried , no active and taking any risks. We need brand-new connection each other to stop this personalizing and requidity process,I think.

Especially the clean energy and health care field is important in the near future.And I think the importance of education for those technology is also needed.The elemant of investment is not only money but also person.

The economical circumstances is fluid in thesedays. So most of companies must adjust and change themselves consistently. In this point, the change of asset or debt is easier than that of human-resource. Workers have their job-style and position and confortable treatment. We have many social problem in these days. But most of those are referred to person rather than the Nation or the Government. For example "Poverty" is social problem,but recently this problen is often related to peoples ability,character and families. And those people are said that they are the cause itself, not the society. Those people are going to be solitary as a result., I think.
